CVG offers a variety of thermal measurements. Infrared measurements made either on-road or in a climate-controlled chamber provide color images of a vehicle’s thermal insulation performance. This type of analysis allows CVG to develop thermal solutions to improve driver comfort and generate fuel savings.
For climate-controlled chamber tests, a vehicle is typically instrumented with thermocouples both inside and outside of the cab. The determination of thermal conductivity (and R-values) of individual components, such as floor mats, can be made using our calibrated heat flow meter.
This testing provides workable solutions to problems and helps balance the cost/performance tradeoffs in product design decisions.
