The National Seating 4210S has been a staple of many coach operators. Its remarkable customer comfort, durable construction, and attractive styling have made it a sought after seating solution for many. With the 4210SB10 we took the same great elements of the 4210S and expanded upon them to make a seat that not only added seat belts, but also incorporated other enhanced safety features to go along with the changes.
We incorporated energy absorbing foam into the back to help protect from head injuries after reviewing test results in how bodies travel when belted. In addition, a key focus was ensuring the belt structure was integrated into the seat back without potentially dangerous posts or pillars which could cause injury upon contact. Our seat belt comes up out of the top of the back and is covered with just a small plastic cover plate to prevent contamination. Thus it is out of the way physically and visually.
The development of the 4210SB10 also required reconsideration of accessories and how they are placed on the back of the seat. We developed a new grab handle which is soft and flexible. The magazine pockets and cup holders were relocated downward on the back to shin level, all to clear the area where head impact could occur. Newer accessories such as power points are also available.
Like the 4210S, the 4210SB10 differs from the 4210A and 4210AB10 in the cushion and headrest. While there are three headrest options we can use, the 4210SB10 comes standard with our sculpted headrest. In addition, the cushion is contoured rather than a flat surface, which provides a more embracing sitting area and distinctive appearance. All 4210 series seats can come with ADA compliant flip-slide features or as rear across seating.
